Applications are now open for the Australian Academy of Science Ukraine-Australia Research Fund Short-Term Visit Activity.
Funding is available to support Ukrainian researchers to undertake visits to Australia to engage in research at a host institute 6 – 12 weeks) or attend a conference and site visit program (2 – 4 weeks).
The primary focus of all short-term visits to Australia should be the value of the activities to the visiting Ukrainian researchers.
Visiting researchers must
- be a Ukrainian citizen or PR either employed at a research institute in Ukraine or displaced by the war and employed as a researcher at an internationally recognised research institute in another country
- hold a PhD (or equivalent) – preference will be given to early and mid-career researchers
- confirm, and be able to demonstrate upon request, that their mission, scope, and research serves civilian purposes. Military research is not eligible for funding.
- conduct research in one of the following fields: Agricultural, veterinary and food sciences; Biological sciences; Biomedical and clinical sciences; Chemical sciences; Earth sciences; Engineering; Environmental sciences; Health sciences; Information and computing sciences; Mathematical sciences; Physical sciences
Applications are to be made by the host, who must be employed as a scientist/faculty member at an eligible Australian research institute: Tertiary education institutions; Co-operative research centres; publicly funded research agencies; State and Territory funded research organisations; public, private and not-for-profit research organisations; other incorporated entities.
