- Up to USD$1.45M over 2 years, with option for additional $1M for an additional year
- Supports mature high-impact translational research that will accelerate innovative ideas into clinical applications, including health care products, technologies and/or practice guidelines
- supported research must represent a mature effort with a minimum biotechnology readiness or knowledge readiness level of 4
- preliminary data required
- research using well-validated animal models allowed
- clinical research allowed
- can be used for small-scale pilot clinical trials as an additional 1 year option
- must address at least 1 of the focus areas:
- battlefield diagnostics, triage and decision aid tools
- treatments
- battlefield readiness
