DARPA invites submissions of innovative basic or applied research concepts in the technical domains of plasma generation and air-breathing electric propulsion. Proposals are requested for electronic propulsion thrusters that are capable of creating
self-neutralized plasma by using the air from the atmosphere as its ionization medium
Up to USD$1M is available for a 2-phase project over 2 years (phase 1: Feasibility – 12 months; Phase 2: Proof of Concept – 12 months).
