DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office is seeking submissions of innovative basic or applied research concepts in the technical domain of radar waveform generation, electromagnetic wave propagation and processing.
The objective of the Emon program is to investigate the potential utility of constructing radar systems that benefit more completely from the tensorial nature of the EM field. DARPA is particularly interested in looking at waveforms with spatially varying phase fronts.
Projects are expected to address two primary areas of interest over an 18 month period:
- theoretical /analytic investigations into the efficacy of radar based on non-traditional waveforms, with the expectations that optical regime results may be extended to RF;
- experimental verification of theoretical predictions, including design and execution of relevant experiments.
This call is issued under the Program Announcement for Disruptioneering – DARPA-PA-24-04.
Proposals are due 24 January 2025.
An information webinar will be held 16 December 2024. Registrations close 13 December. Non-US citizens must submit a DARPA Form 60 by 9 December. Register here.
