Dept Industry, Science and Resources – Critical Technologies Challenge Program – Round 1

The Critical Technologies Challenge Program (CTCP) provides funding for collaborations to develop solutions or components that contribute to a solution for market-led challenges of national significance using quantum technologies.

Grants of  $100,000 – $500,000 over 6 months, are on offer for Stage 1 Feasibility projects, testing and demonstrating technical viability.  Stage 1 Feasibility grants are aimed at technologies commencing at TRL 4 and aiming to achieve TRL 5.

Successful Stage 1 Feasibility projects will be able to apply for up to $5M funding towards a Stage 2 Demonstrator project, producing working prototypes or demonstrators.

Applications must be on behalf of a consortia that includes at least 1 Australian-based industry partner and at least 1 Australian research organisation.

Challenges

  1. optimise the performance, sustainability and security of energy networks
  2. improve medical imaging and medical sensors to support diagnosis, treatment of disease and monitoring of activities inside the human body
  3. enhance communication with autonomous systems in varying environments
  4. optimise and reduce the impact of resource exploration, extraction and mineral processing
