The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs is calling for tenders to provide a Secure G Connectivity Test Lab.  The successful provider will design, establish and run the test lab over an initial operating period of 2 years.  The testing facility can be purpose-built, existing or enhancement of an existing facility.

The primary objective of the Test Lab is to promote the security, resilience and diversity of emerging and future telecommunications technologies. The Test Lab aims to provide a facility for industry to test the security and interoperability of the equipment, protocols, standards and software that underpin 5G and emerging networks and technologies, such as Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN), and report back to the Commonwealth on testing activities.

The Test Lab is intended to be available for use by telecommunications industry vendors, service providers and research organisations (either individually or working together in a consortium), who would provide the equipment to be tested in return for providing key information and findings to the Commonwealth.

Tenders are due 14 August 2023.
