The US Army xTechSoldier Fire Control competition invites participants to showcase their innovative concepts for a Next Generation Squad Weapon Fire Control Module-X (NGSW-FC M-X), engage with the US Department of Defense (DoD), earn prize money and potentially receive a contract award or agreement of up to $5 million.
Soldiers require capabilities that enable them to quickly aim, fire, and engage targets with a weapon system solution that provides overmatch. Army is looking for a small, lightweight system solution that can plug into their existing fire control system (XM157).
Desirable capabilities include but are not limited to one or more of the following: Reduced weight, multi-spectral imagery, passive (range finding; targeting; pointing), live atmospherics (including wind), weapon orientation, spectral conversion and/or hyperspectral imagery, aim augmentation, aided target detection, aided (target tracking; threat recognition).
The Competition has 3 Phases:
- Concept White Papers
- due 24 April 2025
- up to 5 semi-finalists will receive USD$10,000 each
- Technology Pitches
- 23 – 25 June 2025
- up to 3 finalists will receive USD$50,000 each
- Final Demonstrations
- 15 – 18 January 2026
- USD$10,000 prize money for the winner, plus opportunity for up to USD$5M in follow on contracts
