Investigator-Initiated Award – W81XWH-22-RTRP-IIRA – up to USD$1M over 3 years – pre-applications close 27 July 2022 – supports studies with the potential to make an important contribution to the reconstructive transplant research field, patient care and/or quality of life – must address at least one subtopic of the following focus areas:
  • reduce the risks of vasularized composite allotransplantation (VCA)-associated immunosupression
  • identify and/or validate reliable non-invasive prognostic/diagnostic biomarkers, methods or tools for monitoring VCA graft rejection, including applications that would be suitable for PoC testing or home monitoring
  • develop VCA-specific outcome measures
Advanced Technology Development Award – W81XWH-22-RTRP-ATDA – up to USD$1M over 3 years for single PI; up to USD$1.5M over 3 years for multiple PI option – pre-applications due 27 July 2022 – supports research critical for the translation of promising pre-clinical findings into products focused on reconstructive transplantation – must address at least one subtopic of the following focus areas:
  • advance existing tissue preservation strategies to extend the timeline between procurement and transplantation
  • advance reliable non-invasive prognostic/diagnostic biomarkers, methods or tools for monitoring VCA graft rejection, including applications that would be suitable for PoC testing or home monitoring
Concept Award – W*1XWH-22-RTRP-CA – up to USD$200,000 over 18 months – preapplications due 28 September 2022 – supports the exploration of a highly innovative new concept or untested theory that addresses an important problem relevant to reconstructive transplantation –

must address at least one subtopic of the following focus areas:
  • reduce the risks of VCA-associated immunosupression
  • identify and/or validate reliable non-invasive prognostic/diagnostic biomarkers, methods or tools for monitoring VCA graft rejection, including applications that would be suitable for PoC testing or home monitoring
