The Defence Science Institute team had a very productive week at the inaugural ADSTAR2022 summit. It provided a wonderful opportunity to build new links as well as reconnect with friends and colleagues from across the national and international Defence S&T community.
Thank you to Defence Science and Technology (DSTG) for their support of the state-based networks as summit partners. It was a pleasure to join with the Defence Innovation Partnership (SA), NSW Defence Innovation Network, Queensland Defence Science Alliance and the DefenceScienceCentre Defence West (WA) to assist with community building in support of the national enterprise.
Our students and early career researchers (Anya Shindler Michael Barson Jacob Fry Wil Gardner Jiayuan Estrid He Natasha Karner Thuan Pham Michael Scott Matthew Shaw Matthew Sidji) from Victorian Universities were delighted to have the opportunity to meet with the Australian Chief Defence Scientist Professor Tanya Monro and her equivalent in Japan, Dr Shigenori Mishima.
And finally, congratulations to the Victorian Common User Facility supported by the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions for winning the outstanding research infrastructure, powering innovation category in the MoreTogether awards.
