Australian Academy of Science – Astronomy Decadal Plan 2026-2035

The National Committee for Astronomy has released the decadal plan for Australian astronomy, setting a roadmap for addressing critical scientific questions and building the necessary infrastructure.

In addition to the importance of this document for the Australian astronomy and space community, we are able to report that the work of Swinburne University’s Tallulah Waterson is included as a case study.  Tallulah is undertaking her PhD on repurposing data collected by astronomers to improve space domain awareness – detecting satellites and space debris.  And she is playing a very important role in inspiring and encouraging the next generation of astronomers.  We are very excited about the important work Tallulah is doing and pleased that DSI is able to support her in this through a DSI RHD Student Support Grant.
