DARPA – Request for Information – Resilient Ultra Short Pulsed Laser Sources

DARPA’s Multi X Office is seeking information on compact, rugged millijoule-class ultra-short pulsed lasers with the aim of

• identifying approaches to fieldable millijoule ultra-short pulsed lasers
• identifying approaches to maintain mode-locking under environmental challenges

Responses may address any of the following:

1. How compact and rugged can millijoule-class ultra-short pulsed laser sources be made?
2. How can an optimal laser operation be maintained in millijoule-class ultra-short pulsed laser sources under environmental stress?
3. How can rugged ultra-short pulsed lasers be broadly tunable across the parameter space?
