The 2026 Defence iQ Modern Warfare Conference will be held 29 – 30 September 2026 in Bucharest, Romania.
With a theme of Strategy, Innovation and Investment for the Hybrid Conflict, the conference is focused four key themes:
- Modern Battlefield Adaptation – how forces are manoeuvring, decentralising command and rapidly adapting to degraded operating environments.
- Technology and Human Convergence – how drones, digital tools and emerging technologies are paired with human expertise and reserve forces to maximise operational effectiveness.
- Alliance Preparedness and Capacity – recruitment, retention, industrial convergence, legal frameworks and international support that sustain NATA and allied capabilities
- Investment and Innovation in Defence – how NATO projects are laying the groundwork for capabilities, driving procurement, enabling innovation and ensuring readiness before it becomes urgent.
