DSI and DST host ‘Supporting Safe Operation in CBRN Contaminated Environments Forum’

On Tuesday, 6th October 2020, The Defence Science Institute (DSI) in collaboration with Defence Science and Technology (DST) hosted a virtual interactive forum to learn about Defence’s requirements for supporting safe operations in CBRN contaminated environments.

The event drew together over 100 participants from defence, industry and academia with the aim of building a mutual understanding of the challenges and to discuss the next steps in forming communities of interest to support these challenges.

The event was chaired by Dr Axel Bender (DST STaRShot leader for operating in CBRN environments) and included four technical sessions featuring capability pitches from a range of panellists, relating to the different challenges. 

Panellists included experts in the field from University of Melbourne, La Trobe, Monash, Federation University, RMIT, Victoria University as well as industry experts from Schott Minifab Asia Pacific, AOS Group, Ideation Product Solutions, Green Business Products, Towers Group, Advanced Analysis Australia, Ventou Garment Technologies and airpath.
