As part of the 15th DSTG International Conference on Health and Usage Monitoring (HUMS 2027), DSTG invites participants to apply innovative fault-detection, diagnostics and AI-based approaches to detect and trend a planet-bearing fault.

Using data from a full-scale Bell 206B-1 helicopter main rotor gearbox endurance test, participants will demonstrate the earliest convincing detection and most accurate trend of fault progression for spalling on the inner raceway of one of the four planet bearings.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the best solutions.

Registration and access to the data set are now open, with registration closing 31 October 2026.

Completed results are due 15 January 2027.

Successful teams will present their work at HUMS 2027.
