National Institute of Measurement – 2023 Measurement Awards – Nomination Open

Nominations are open for the 2023 National Institute of Measurement Awards, closing 23 July 2023.

The Awards recognise outstanding achievements in measurement science at all levels.

The Awards are open to individuals or groups who have made one or more significant measurement-related achievements and and the activity is conducted in Australia or the primary applicant is an Australian citizen.

Measurement-related achievements can be in any scientific or technical field, as long as the measurement of something tangible is central to the achievement. Examples could include:

  • designing a new measurement method
  • improving our understanding of measurement science
  • applying measurements in a new way to address an industry challenge or societal concern.

Barry Inglis Medal – recognises professionals with a sustained record of achievement. $2,000 prize.

Measurement Achievement Encouragement Award – recognises early to mid-career professionals. $1,000 prize plus $1,000 off an an NMI training course or service.

NMI Measurement Impact Award –  celebrates measurement-related achievements demonstrating real-world impact. $1,000 prize plus $1,000 off an an NMI training course or service.

People’s Choice Award  – audience vote at the National Science Week awards ceremony. $500 prize

NMI-Questacon Student Measurement Award  – for school students.  $250 prize plus Questacon family pass.
