XPRIZE Wildfire Competition


With bushfire frequency only set to increase, XPRIZE is reaching out to innovators who would like to help prevent these fires becoming an unstoppable force. Teams from around the world specializing in AI, robotics, earth observation, autonomous systems, sensors, satellite communications, and related fields are encouraged to join the recently announced XPRIZE Wildfire competition. The competition will incentivize teams to innovate and transform how fires are detected, managed, and fought – with a AU $16M prize pool to help teams commercialise and bring this technology into the real world.

Early fire detection, as proven by the Australian National University, could reduce bushfire costs in Australia by up to $8.2 billion over the next 30 years – as Australian’s we know all too well the devastation increasing bushfires are having on our country.
