RHD STUDENT GRANTS
THE GATEWAY TO
Support for collaborative research
While universities are traditionally competitive in nature, developing our national defence capability is best supported by a collaborative approach. To support this, DSI offers an RHD student grant to universities wanting to collaborate with companies, Defence or other institutions in developing the next generation of researchers. Grant funding provides universities with the financial incentive to attract top post-graduate students looking for research opportunities. It also encourages strategic collaborations and learnings across the Defence eco-system in Australia.

RHD student grants
The RHD student grant is designed to encourage collaboration between industry, DST Group, Defence or universities to develop the next generation of researchers. Grants are awarded on the basis of the project, which must be collaborative and relevant to Defence or National Security. The student does not yet have to be identified to commence the application process.
The value of the grant is $15,000 awarded to the university, to be paid as a stipend to the student.
