The Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research Summit (ADSTAR) will be held in Canberra 17 to 19 September 2024. The summit brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, small business, big business, universities, industry and government to network, share ideas and help shape future collaboration. 

The Defence Science Institute will be supporting up to 10 individuals to attend the ADSTAR summit. Flights to Canberra, summit registration and accommodation will be included as part of the package as well as attendance to the Gala Dinner on 18th September. 

This is a unique opportunity for those who have not previously engaged with Defence to hear from senior international scientists and Defence leaders about the challenges and opportunities to accelerate development of asymmetric capabilities for defence. There will also be opportunities to build your network of peers, defence personnel and industry. 

Expressions of interest are invited from post graduate students and early career researchers working in a range of areas including but not limited to: artificial intelligence, human and social sciences, physical and biological sciences, data sciences and systems engineering whose research might find application in any of the following themes:

In order to qualify for this opportunity, you must be available to attend the summit in person, attend the Gala Dinner and be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
