DR CHRISTOPHER BEST – ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DSI
It is our pleasure to introduce our incoming Associate Director of DSI, Christopher Best.
Chris is an experimental psychologist with over two decades of post-PhD experience, primarily within Defence, specialising in aerospace human factors. His career is defined by his deep engagement with the ADF, addressing critical challenges in human perception, cognition, team performance, and human-systems integration.
A dedicated international collaborator, Chris has led numerous international projects and chaired key forums, including a Five Eyes (FVEY) panel on human-systems performance. Collaboration with university, industry, and international partners has been a constant throughout Chris’s career. Most recently, he served as the Group Leader for Cognitive and Vision Sciences within Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG)‘s Human and Decision Sciences Division.
We value the depth of experience, vision, and collaborative energy Chris brings to DSI. We look forward to the opportunity to introduce him to you, our DSI community, starting this November 2025.
